Privacy Policy
Effective date: 2026-10-05 · Applies to the AdBlock Pro Max iPhone and iPad app and adblockpromax.com
AdBlock Pro Max is an on-device ad filter. It has no servers in your data path, no account and no logs. We cannot see what your apps request, because those requests never reach us. This policy explains the small amount of data the app and this website do process, and why.
1. Who we are
AdBlock Pro Max is published by Massive Ventures, Inc., 35111 Newark Blvd Ste F, Newark, CA 94560-1258, United States ("we", "us"), the data controller for the limited data described in sections 3 and 4. Contact: [email protected].
2. What stays on your device
The items below never leave your iPhone or iPad. We cannot see them.
| Data | Why | Where it lives |
|---|---|---|
| DNS requests made by your apps (the host names they look up) | To decide, on the device, whether a host is an ad or tracker host on your lists | Processed in memory by the filter extension on your device. Never stored as a log, never transmitted to us. |
| Statistics (number of blocked requests per host and per day, which ad network a blocked host belongs to) | So the app can show what was stopped | On your device only, in the app's shared container. Clear them any time in Settings. |
| Your settings and rules (filter on/off, chosen lists, block and allow rules, pause timer) | To run the filter the way you set it | On your device. With Premium, optionally synced through your own iCloud account, which we cannot access. |
| The blocklists | So the filter works offline | Bundled with the app and updated from this website. Downloading an update tells our web server only that a device fetched a file (see section 4, Hosting). |
3. The filter and your DNS resolver
When the filter is on, your device sends every DNS lookup to the filter first. Lookups for hosts on your lists are answered on the device with an empty answer. Every other lookup is forwarded, unchanged, to the DNS resolver your network already uses (for example your home router or carrier) or, if you choose one in Settings, to a public resolver such as Cloudflare or Quad9. The operator of that resolver sees those lookups exactly as it did before you installed AdBlock Pro Max; we are not that operator and never see them. The app does not route, encrypt or inspect any other traffic.
4. What is collected, and by whom
The items below match the App Store privacy label and the app's privacy manifests. None of them includes host names, your traffic, your name or your email, and none is linked to your identity.
- Usage events (for example "filter enabled", "paywall viewed" or "rule added"), with the app version, iOS version, device model and language: anonymous analytics, to understand which features are used. Never a host name.
- Purchase status (trial, subscription, transaction identifiers issued by Apple): to unlock Premium on your devices.
- Crash reports: sent by Apple only if you opted in to share analytics with app developers in iOS Settings.
AdBlock Pro Max does not show the App Tracking Transparency prompt, does not use the advertising identifier and contains no advertising or attribution SDK.
5. Third parties and what they receive
We use a small number of processors. None of them receives your DNS requests or statistics. None sells your data.
- Apple (App Store, in-app purchases, crash reports). Apple processes purchases and, if you opted in, sends us aggregated crash and usage data.
- TelemetryDeck (anonymous analytics). Receives anonymous usage events with a salted, hashed identifier that cannot be traced back to you. TelemetryDeck is based in Germany and processes data under the GDPR; see their privacy policy.
- RevenueCat (purchase management). Validates App Store transactions so Premium works on your devices. It receives an anonymous app user identifier generated on your device, your subscription status and Apple's transaction identifiers, never your name, email or any host name. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
- Plausible Analytics (this website only). Cookieless, aggregated page-view statistics; no personal data is stored and no cookie banner is needed.
- Hosting: this website, including the blocklist files the app downloads, is served from our own server in the EU. It keeps standard access logs (IP address, requested file, user agent) for up to 30 days for security. A list download is the only contact the app has with us.
6. How we use data and on what basis
- Providing the app (filtering, statistics, rules): processed only on your device, to perform the contract with you.
- Purchases (Apple, RevenueCat): performance of the contract.
- Anonymous analytics and crash reports (TelemetryDeck, Apple): our legitimate interest in keeping the app working and improving it.
- Support email: performance of the contract; we keep your message as long as needed to resolve it and up to 24 months afterwards.
7. Retention
- Statistics, settings and rules: on your device until you clear them or delete the app. We hold no copy.
- TelemetryDeck anonymous signals: aggregated; raw signals are deleted after 90 days.
- RevenueCat purchase records: for the life of your subscription plus the period required for accounting and Apple dispute handling.
- Website server logs: 30 days.
8. Your rights and choices
- Turn the filter off at any time with the switch on Home, or remove its configuration in iOS Settings › General › VPN & Device Management.
- Clear statistics in Settings inside the app.
- Delete everything: deleting the app removes the filter, its statistics, rules and settings from your device. There is no account to delete.
- Choose your resolver in Settings: your network's own resolver (default) or a public one.
For anything we or our processors hold (support emails, purchase identifiers), email [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days. If you are in the EU or UK you may also complain to your data protection authority.
9. Children
AdBlock Pro Max is a utility suitable for all ages, but it is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 where that is the age of digital consent) and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. A parent may install it on a child's device; the app collects nothing more in that case. If you believe a child has provided data to us, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Purchases
All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We receive transaction identifiers and subscription status only, never your payment details. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
11. Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update the effective date above and show a notice in the app before the change takes effect. Earlier versions are available on request.
